As a $10-a-day non-profit society, community support is an essential part of how we sustain high-quality childcare on Hornby Island.
While government funding makes affordable childcare possible, it does not cover the full cost of operating and maintaining our program and facility.
Volunteer time, donated goods and services, bottle depot revenue, and financial contributions are all vital ways our community strengthens this program.
We staff above the minimum ratios covered by the Ministry which allows us to provide greater individual support, deeper engagement, and a higher quality of care.
This level of programming is only possible through additional community support.
Your involvement demonstrates strong local engagement and helps us leverage additional funding by showing government and grant funders that our community cares deeply about this program.

Financial donations directly support the children and families we serve.
Donations of $50 and over are eligible for a charitable tax receipt, and can be processed through Canada Helps through the form below. We also accept cash, cheque and e-transfer to finance.hids@gmail.com.
