FAQ

We are almost always able to accommodate our families needs as soon as they are ready for care. Although our available spaces change season to season and year to year. If you have recently moved to Hornby or are considering having care for your child, please get in touch!

Our core programs are for children aged 1-5, but we also offer specialized programs for Children 6-10.

Under the Oak programs run Monday - Thursday.

8:45 am - 3:15 pm.

Island Adventure School is open Fridays during the school year and Raven Room Programs during the summer.

We follow the SD71 calendar and are closed during school holidays.

We provide healthy shared snacks everyday. Families provide their own lunches for their children.

We only offer drop in’s for children who are already registered and want to add the occasional extra day.

You will get a bill at the beginning of each month with the total for the registered days that month. The bill is due by the end of that month. Parents pay for registered days regardless of if their children attend. Sessional/seasonal programs are billed in full upon registration.

To register for any of our programs, complete a registration form and permission slips. Then contact our Manager to request space. Please identify which program you would like to register for.

We are outside rain or shine and love to get wet and dirty! Please send your child with a change of clothes and weather appropriate gear (sunhat, waterproof boots, rain gear, mittens etc).

Yes. If the power is out at 8:00am we will be closed until noon. If the power is back on at 10am we will open at noon. If not we will be closed for the whole day. If the power goes out while your children are here, please come and pick them up as we will have to close (we will call to let you know).

We do not encourage children to bring toys from home, as they can get lost, damaged, or the child might have trouble sharing them. Toys from home can stay in the child’s cubby and can be accessed if they need extra comfort during the day.

In our Catkin room we have 3 staff for 8 children.

In our Acorn Room we have 3-4 staff for 15 children.

In our Adventure School Program we have 2 staff for 8 children.

In our Raven Summer School program we have 2-3 staff for 10 children.

We consistently operate above licensing standards.
