Hornby Island Daycare is seeking ECEs and ECEas to join our team

Hiring ongoing.

Multiple positions available, 2-4 days a week.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting with the general activities of the daycare

• Supporting the other ECEs and ECEAs in the supervision of, and care for, enrolled children. 

• Providing one-on-one support when individual children need more focused care and assistance. 

• Creating and supporting age-appropriate programming

The successful candidate will be:

• caring and respectful of children as growing and developing people.

• fully committed to fostering teamwork, collaboration, and communication with staff and families.

• able to multitask, keeping an eye on the group as a whole and anticipating the needs, while facilitating specific activities or play areas.  

• able to engage on a personal level with each child equally.

• excited to work with the team to develop and take on activities and tasks that enrich the daycare environment and experience. 

Start date: May 1st 2026

Compensation:

ECEs: starting wage $29.58/hour (plus $2/hour top up when leading a program)

ECEas: Starting wage $23.46/hour 

Extended Benefits after 3 months for all employees working 20+ hours/week

Hours: 2-4 days/week - 8 hours/day
